The building sector is responsible for 40% of global CO2 emissions. As part of a larger national capacity and skill-building project, the RAIC held a training program during Congress 2023 to increase low-carbon awareness among architects.  To increase access to a larger audience, the RAIC will be hosting a live webinar version of the training over four Tuesdays in February: 6, 13, 20, 27, 2024.  Each module is 90 minutes in duration.

This six-week online course equips engineers with the skills needed for collaborative decision-making, design, construction, and operation, along with critical knowledge related to the growing demand for low-carbon buildings with specialized topics, including implications for Indigenous and other equity, deserving groups. The course also provides exposure to new technologies, materials, tools and approaches to equip engineers with the knowledge necessary to implement low-carbon initiatives in their professional day to day.

Offered through the Climate Risk Institute (CRI), new sessions will run on Tuesdays and Thursdays begin in January 2024.  

Capacity is limited to 50 people per session.

Session #2 – Thursdays from 12-2pm ET starting January 18, ending February 22.
